A seven day cruise to Pricess Louisa Inlet. The Sunshine Coast is reputed for it’s stunning marine parks, waterfalls, and snug, hideaway anchorages. You are never too far from an inviting beach, hiking trail or swimming hole.

Day 1

Secret Cove Marina & Anchorage

An early start from Vancouver to Secret Cove. There is good anchorage in the cove and the marina offers fuel and ample moorage. Their store stocks an excellent selection of boating essentials and provisions. Laze on the patio of the Upper Deck Cafe or visit the Jolly Roger Pub.

Day 2

Backeddy Marina Skookumchuck narrows

The friendly Backeddy offers moorage, fuel and a great pub serving hearty dishes and local craft beers. Enjoy the shaded deck with views across Skookumchuck Narrows.

Day 3

Princess Louisa Marine Park Chatterbox Falls

With careful planning boaters can time the 50km trip up Jervis Inlet to coincide with slack water at Malibu Rapids before entering the deep, calm waters of Princess Louisa Inlet. Anchor off spectacular Chatterbox Falls or tie up at the park’s dock.

Day 4

Princess Louisa Marine Park Chatterbox Falls

Enjoy a magical day exploring the inlet by dingy or kayak, hiking to the falls and visiting the brass plaque to James F. Macdonald who preserved this peaceful haven for all to enjoy. Choose your personal waterfall and stern tie for the night.

Day 5

Pender Harbour

The Harbour offers ample anchorage and a small marine park with hikes to Mount Daniel. Provisioning and moorage can be found at Madeira Park, or moorage and a pub in Garden Bay. Alternatively anchor in Gerrans Bay and dinghy in for supper at Painted Boat Resort’s excellent restaurant. 

Day 6

Smuggler Cove & Buccaneer Bay

Laze on the white sandy beaches of Buccaneer Bay Marine Park before dropping anchor in protected Smuggler Cove Marine Park. Stern tie and savour a magnificent sunset over Texada Island in the comfort of your cockpit

Day 7

Union Steamship Marine Resort Bowen Island

(page 52)

Tie up at the friendly Union Steamship Marina, promenade on the waterfront boardwalk and delight in the charms of ‘Downtown Bowen Island’ with its choice of local shops, pubs, bistros and restaurants before returning to Vancouver the following day.
