Crew Course

It all starts here

The magic begins here, with the first of three modules in our day sailing program – the CREW module. We will start getting you to think like a sailor, dress like a sailor and be part of the action aboard a sailboat. When the motor is turned off for the first time and the boat takes off with the power of wind alone, you’ll see just how much fun it is working together with others as crew.

The boats are 24′ keelboats built specifically for our program to perform in our typical lighter winds. They are responsive, but the 770lb bulb keel means you don’t have to worry about the boat capsizing like a dinghy. more than anything, our designer worked to create a fun boat perfectly suited to our waters. Afterwards, you can practice on the same model boats through our JIB SET sailing club.

Bay Skipper Program
The BAY SKIPPER program continues on where CREW leaves off. Upon the building blocks learned during module one, students will gain the skills necessary to act as skipper aboard a 22’-24’ day sailing keelboat in familiar waters. This second week mirrors the format of CREW (two evening lectures and two day of sailing) with the aim of attaining level one certifications upon completion

Cruising Nuts and Bolts

This weekend live aboard course offers graduates of the BAY SKIPPER program an opportunity for a spectacular weekend away aboard a 32-36’ yacht. Students will apply their previously learned skills while sailing into Howe Sound and spending the night at anchor.

Note: if you are continuing to LEVEL TWO courses, some people skip the CRUISING NUTS AND BOLTS module and go directly to a LEVEL TWO Cruise & Learn. If your ambitions are smaller boats in moderate conditions without spending extended periods aboard, the CRUISING NUTS AND BOLTS is a good option.

Full payment is due at or within 90 days of a course start date. Cancellations made 91+ days prior to the course start date will be subject to a 10% plus tax cancellation fee.
