Cooper Yacht Charters has been in business since 1983. Currently, Cooper Yacht Charters Ltd. (incorporated in 1988 after acquisition from Cooper Yachts Ltd.) operates as Cooper Boating. The company was originally founded by Forbes Cooper, who is often credited as being British Columbia's most successful boat builder, with thousands of boats on the water. Cooper Boating, as it stands today, is the product of growth and acquisitions, including asset acquisition of The Jib Set Sailing Centre, West Coast Cruising Centre, West Coast School of Seamanship, Seafari Sailing Expeditions, and Bosun's Charters and corporate acquisition of Pacific Rim Yacht Charters Ltd.

Cooper Boating operates the largest recreational charter fleet in Canada, including over 90 yachts under management for the current season. Cooper's flagship location is at Granville Island's Maritime Market in Vancouver. Another full service, year round location sits in the bustling marine seaside community along in Sidney BC at the world class Port Sidney Marina. Cooper's third satellite location is open seasonally in Powell River, a large seaside community at the gateway to Desolation Sound.

Cooper's integrated school blends well with the charter operations. As the largest recreational boating school in Canada, our training blends well with the needs of charter clients. As boaters take to the water with Cooper, our instructors set a course for a lifetime of great cruising. Each time people come back, our staff is ready with informative vessel and area orientations necessary to ensure skills are back on course for trouble free holidays.
